This is a different take on a story set in the Star Wars universe. I enjoyed the look and feel of what a suburban town in this world would look like, since we haven’t actually seen it. The town they came from reminded me of the neighborhood from E.T., and then anything we’ve seen in shows recently. The four main characters are generic but likable, each with their own clearly defined roles within the group and are well-executed by the actors. The pirate vibe is definitely not something we’ve seen before and adds a bit of a spooky element and a dangerous atmosphere. If this was an 80s movie it would fit right in. So far I’ve been enjoying it for the new story elements in the Star Wars universe, the hints of nostalgia for the movies from my childhood and the fact that I can share this Star Wars experience with my kids.
